Jeremy Bruner is a senior at Florida A&M University studying Computer Information Systems. Jeremy is an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at FAMU. In Fall of 2014, Jeremy decided to take his outreach work to the next level, and joined FITC as a Student Ambassador.

IMG_9715Jeremy chose to join the FITC Student Ambassadors team because he felt a need to give back to the community. One of the best decisions of his life was choosing to study Computer Information Systems, and he wants to influence a younger generation to pursue computing degrees as well. As an Ambassador, Jeremy has been able to participate in several recruiting events, such as the FITC Career Fairs and press conferences. These events have allowed him to develop his communication skills by pushing him out of his comfort zone. Traveling to different high schools has also been a highlight of his Ambassador duties. To Jeremy, the most rewarding experiences are when he sees students gaining an interest in computer technology that they may have not had before.

Set to graduate this Fall, Jeremy chose to study computer systems because its challenging and will provide him with opportunities for future career growth. His ultimate career goal is to land a rewarding job in database or web development. To learn more about Jeremy, connect with him on LinkedIn or Twitter.

These students travel across the Florida Panhandle to promote information technology, computer science, and computer engineering to high schools. Ambassadors are responsible for activities such as running coding camps, assisting in technology clubs, or hosting college tours. For more information on FITC Ambassadors, visit the Ambassador page.
