There is no question about it. Professional jugglers have nothing on the Florida IT Career Alliance’s Student Ambassador Courtney Lisenbee. Courtney graduates this December with a degree from Florida State University in Media/ Communication Studies and minors in Information Technology and Business. While at FSU, she has had a finger in every pie. Courtney is a member of Women in IT & ICT Sharing Experiences (WISE) and the Association of IT Professionals (AITP). Another organization she is a part of does outreach across Florida with a mission of increasing the participation of women and minorities in IT/Computing disciplines called the STARS Alliance. Recently with the STARS Alliance, Courtney helped the FSU team win first and second at nationals for their presentations. In addition to her work on campus, she has already begun her professional career with multiple internships related to information technology and social media.

Courtney has participated in many different events with FITC since she became a Student Ambassador in September 2014. From attending conferences on behalf of the Alliance to visiting high schools across the Panhandle, Courtney has been able to do it all with FITC. She is known amongst the team as one of the most active Student Ambassadors in FITC. Through her outreach in the community with FITC, Courtney has enjoyed being able to ignite younger student’s interest in the field that she knows holds abundant opportunities. FITC has also helped Courtney better develop her leadership skills while learning more about IT. Courtney elaborated, “FITC has helped grow as a person. Originally, I joined with the hopes of inspiring students through teaching them about technology. In reality, they inspired me.”
